This map feature depicts the locations of daycare facilities that are registered with the Florida Department of Children and Families (FDCF). The FDCF is statutorily responsible for the administration of child care facility licensing and child care training throughout Florida; it also oversees the registration of the above mentioned facilities. However, it is important to note that not all daycare facilities are required to be licensed in Florida, therefore a daycare facility may be registered with the State, but not licensed by the State. The good news is that many daycares in Florida get licensed voluntarily and even the daycares which do not seek licenses are subject to certain legal requirements which set a maximum number of children that can be served and mandate a minimum level of staff training. If you're concerned about a facility's licensure, its best to contact the daycare itself or inquire with the FDCF. Either party will be able to tell you if the facility is licensed and up-to-date; they will also be able to describe which specific legal requirements the daycare is subject to.
